The international standard for information security management systems: protecting the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the information you hold.

Assessed via schemesHow conformity works for ISO 19650: A multi-part standard. Organisations are commonly assessed against ISO 19650-2 (delivery phase) through certification-body schemes; check the accreditation behind any scheme offered.
The international standard series for managing information over the whole life of a built asset using building information modelling — the successor to the BS 1192 series.
Concepts and principles for information management (Part 1), delivery-phase requirements (Part 2), operational phase (Part 3), information exchange, and security-minded information management.
Designers, contractors and subcontractors delivering on projects with BIM requirements — UK public-sector projects flow these down routinely, and Tier 1s pass them to their supply chains.
Theme-level description in our own words — the standard itself defines the requirements, and no standard text is reproduced here.
Practically: your models, drawings and registers live in a CDE with controlled sharing states; you respond to exchange information requirements; and your temporary works, quality and handover information can plug into the client’s information model.
We take organisations to the point where an accredited certification body can assess them with confidence: gap analysis → implementation → operating evidence → internal audit and management review → readiness review. The assessment and the certificate belong to the certification body; our role ends at prepared-and-ready, and continues afterwards only as support.

The international standard for quality management systems: consistent processes, controlled documents, measured performance and evidenced improvement.
Conformity is commonly assessed against ISO 19650-2 through certification-body schemes (often described as BIM certification). Ask any provider which part they assess and what accreditation sits behind the scheme.
If the project has BIM requirements, your appointment will flow information duties down to you: naming, statuses, and delivering your information through the CDE. The overhead is modest once set up.
It is document control, grown up: the CDE workflow with defined states and approvals is exactly the controlled-document discipline ISO 9001 expects, applied to project information.
